Market Day - Kalaw
It's 6:45am, and the streets are abuzz with activity. They always are at this time of the day in Burma / Myanmar. Even so, today is special in Kalaw, it's market day.
The markets in this area of Shan state, the eastern part of Burma / Myanmar, typically work on a 5 day cycle, moving around from place to place, town to town, village to village. Today is the market day in little Kalaw. The air is crisp here in the mountains, but I guess it's relative. The locals wear winter jackets and toques, while I wear a t-shirt with my longi.
