Another World - Yellowstone

 

It is a common theme in my photography to reach out and capture the "other worlds" on Earth.  My recent trip to Yellowstone National Park in Wyoming (USA) gave me plenty of opportunities.

Home to two-thirds of the world's geysers, Yellowstone is a place of extremes.  Gooey, bubbling mudpots and spectacularly colourful hot springs.  Impressive canyons and remarkable wildlife.  Situated on what is essentially a "supervolcano," Yellowstone is best known as a hotbed of geothermal activity.

Here, the bubbling hot water heads toward the edge of Yellowstone Lake.
